Health Dietary App
Overview
I've developed a user-friendly mobile experience with a sleek and contemporary design, making it a delightful journey to discover meals, acquire knowledge about healthier habits, and rediscover enjoyable food options. Our intuitive UI simplifies navigation. While there are numerous health websites that facilitate food-related discussions and learning, individuals dealing with acid reflux and food intolerances require extra care. Where can they find a platform to share insights and learn from others in a considerate and informed manner?

High Fidelity UI Designs
Presented below is a partial glimpse of this comprehensive project, featuring more than 75 screens. Seen here is the onboarding process, carefully designed to guide users through setting up their accounts. From this point, users can effortlessly explore information on health issues in easily digestible portions, delve into meal planning, work towards their goals, engage with a community by sharing content, and discover topics that pique their interest.

Wireframes
All pages were prepared before starting the detailed hi-fidelity screens to figure out a general layout and design structure to be formed based on important data to track based on research.

Goals
The goal here is to create a medical specialty mobile health app to help users to follow a new healthy diet and lifestyle. I took the initial steps to do exploration and design the display views for the a full feature product.
The idea is to create a platform that allows its users to track various stages of their daily activities but also curate their own experience. It’s a place for the user to save and share only their best recipes and have a community space to share questions about their health in a safe space.

Target Group
I focused on curators, not users. The AWD curator is curious about lots of different foods and looking for information in a wide variety. They just want to learn and implement changes into their lifestyle.
The majority of the users are people who are looking for quality content, specifically not wanting to sift through “junk” on other social media platforms. So I split these people into 2 groups: learners and and curators.

I analyzed similar competitors in the health app space. Aimed to see how these other apps that showed a lot of content combined with a user’s comments on acid reflux content, specifically in small spaces like on phone apps. Then analyzed how and what I could do it better with this app.

Throughout the entire process, I kept coming back... about the core of "Acid Watcher" identity. These are a few of the recurring questions that were constantly coming up to be thought about.

USERS / AUDIENCE
So who is the user base in need of such an app that helps maintain a better diet and lifestyle? For those that want symptom tracking features to monitor and record their symptoms over time in which data can be invaluable for both patients and healthcare providers in assessing the effectiveness of treatments. As like any other medical app it can provide comprehensive and up-to-date information to help users understand their condition better with easy access to information that is complementary to the author's book.
/ BRAND IDENTITY
ICONS, FONTS, COLORS
Fonts
Looking at the current website based on the author of these books they utilize these two fonts. So wanted to streamline the typeface. So a serif font like these two are known to have a clean and legible design. Accessibility is a key consideration offering clear distinction between characters making it easier for users with visual challenges to interact with the app. Also these fonts have multilingual support for a diverse user base.
Colors
When starting this project I referenced an existing website that the author of the health books appear on. Since branding with logo, fonts, color pallet already exist I pulled those assets together to carry through the design for this iOS App in order to streamline everything.

/ REFLECTION
What did I learn from this project?
My main goal was to preserve the core content of the existing Acid Reflux book while enhancing and streamlining the aspects that received positive feedback from users. I aimed to simplify sections that were causing user frustration.
Although I had a roadmap to guide me, adapting the health content from the book into bite-sized components was a fascinating challenge. My objective was to create easily digestible content and design a user interface that included intuitive navigation elements to support users in their daily lives.
Also this was a passion project for me because I was diagnosed with this issue in 2018 and took quick action to learn everything about it because of all the weird multiple symptoms one can have with it. Hope to one day present this project to the Doctor and Author of the book and maybe present it to them so that it may help a community of people finding themselves dealing with it and to have a comprehensive companion app in their pocket.
