Colliers is a global Commercial Real Estate marketing firm that offers portfolio advisory and marketing services, asset management, investment sales, and debt & equity financing solutions to companies and private and institutional investors.

I worked creatively and combined talents as a web designer, developer and print production associate. Responsible for the look and feel of multiple websites, landing pages, emails and campaigns, focused on design, usability and ease of navigation as well as the development and maintenance of back-end functionality and content management. Concentrated largely on web production and development by supporting corporate and property-specific print materials and initiatives.

Worked on various projects for a college student financial-aid marketing company that has over 30+ sites. Under the guidance of two senior front-end developers utilizing an Agile software development process, focus was on modern responsive layouts, centered around conversion rate optimization and SEO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisted engineering team to migrate website code from flat php files to Kohana framework.
  • Collaborated on design projects such as providing UI design concepts for Edvisors corporate site by contributing design layouts for the “above-the-fold” section of the homepage. In addition, provided online form landing page designs for later use in A/B testing.
  • Re-designed marketing materials such as media-kits, event banners, and web banner ads. Streamlined existing design of logos throughout the product lines so they would appear consistent and scale across various mediums.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) projects included reviewing documented performance audits to evaluate a site’s health and provide reports from findings. Optimized sites by using best code hygiene practices on outdated pages and reducing graphic file sizes to improve page speed. Attended monthly on-the-job training covering the latest SEO market trends.
  • Reported bugs and other maintenance issues as well as Q/A test work on an as-needed basis.

  • Web duties included posting content provided by the production manager and sales staff on a weekly basis. Created in-house online web ads and provided metrics of online traffic when requested by sales staff. Designed and broadcasted e-newsletter campaigns and maintained several distribution lists. Boston PHP is the largest education-focused Meetup in New England with more than 3,700 members.

We have been meeting since 2002 and typically meet monthly on a Wednesday at "New England Research & Development Team (NERD) Center" or Wayfair's Office in Copley Square in the past. We discuss a wide range of full-stack development topics related to PHP.

While our in-person meetups focus on full-stack development related to PHP, our member engagement strategy offers services beyond in-person meetups. Our mission is to engage all members in continuing education efforts. For example, we have developed 12 virtual self-study groups that are conducted during the down time between in-person Meetups.
